Its right-handed shape offers ergonomic support with a thumb rest and it has a ton of programmable buttons, including a sniper button. It also has very low click latency and a wide CPI range. Although it is quite heavy compared to a dedicated FPS mouse, it comes with five removable weights that allow you to redistribute the weight to your preference. Its scroll wheel unlocks for free scrolling, and it also has L\/R tilts for horizontal scrolling, which are rare features in a gaming mouse. The build combines matte black plastic for the main buttons and grips and places glossy plastic between the aesthetically different sections of the mouse and on the additional buttons. Matte plastic hides hand oil well, but shiny plastic doesn’t. The scroll wheel is shiny, metallic, and neatly notched. A button just behind the scroll wheel toggles notched scrolling, and it’s a real delight with pronounced clicks. Toggling the mouse for infinite scroll allows the wheel to spin so freely that a good swipe can spin it for more than 10 seconds. Terms of service and other long documents have never been easier to read.<\/p>\n

The G502 Hero features customizable RGB lighting for the DPI indicators and the Logitech G logo. The two lighting zones are cleverly positioned to be visible between your thumb and forefinger when holding the mouse. By default, the DPI indicators do not stay on. For the most part, the button placement is good. The three thumb buttons are easy to pick out by touch, well within reach, but hard to miss. Some people may have trouble with the two buttons to the left of the main mouse button. We keep them set on the DPI switches, and the frontmost one is easy enough to accidentally hit and feel the momentum of a mouse suddenly much quicker.<\/p>\n
